Project background

Over time, one of the issues with the Dog Furiendly website was the quality of the listings that formed the backbone of the website. As much of this data was contributed by users, as the number of listings grew, the quality began to become more variable, duplicate listings began to crop up and as the effects of the COVID lockdowns took hold an increasing number of listings were for businesses that were no longer trading.

As such, Laravel was used to create a set of data analysis tools to assess listing quality using external data sources such as the Google Places API to validate, match and improve the listing data. This enabled members of staff to quickly and easily verify that the listing data was up-to-date, unique and still open for business.
